The online petition is growing, in just two days we are over 160 plus 45 gathered on Saturday in person, puts us over 200 signatures against this development.

In other news Liz and Charles Huxtable have shared some research they have previously done on site and it is wonderful to look at. Liz has listed all the birds observed on this site and provides other information about them, amazing diversity and Charles has survey two small quadrants in this site and has listed all the plant species/vegetation that he observed. He estimates that this would only have identified potentially half of what would be the total species count in this bush. View both these documents on the Resources tab of our site.

Thanks everyone for the ongoing effort and as tomorrow is Monday, how about sharing the information in your work environment or with other friends to try and get this message out there before we get to the Planning Panel meeting on Tuesday, the more signatures we can gather prior to the hearing would be beneficial for our case.

Regards

Steve Warham

About Our Group

We are a group of very concerned and angry local people. We are concerned about the impact Development has on the wildlife and wellbeing of our community. We are very concerned about the destruction of Habitat and continued loss of Biodiversity in our area. We also understand that natural areas are very important to our health and wellbeing.

We believe the development will have significant impact on the local traffic and with more planning and consideration we believe the same benefits without the impacts can be obtained on other sights in the area.

We are also concerned that the accumulative effect on our environment is enhanced as we are about to see the destruction of bush through Jesmond and into Rankin Park for what will be a highly valued road for the community, it just places more pressure on all of us to try and retain as much bush as we can to provide those refuges for our fauna and flora.
